Apart from those bits it was a pleasant walk. Once in Banbury town centre I walked down Parson Street and finished at Ye Olde Reindeer in Banbury. It does a better pint than the "proper" endpoint at the bus station :-)...

As you leave the village the footpath passes around the back of the brewery, where we saw their shire horses grazing; they are still used for local beer deliveries. We stopped for lunch at the Cherington Arms in Stourton, which we would recommend for its good food and beer....

The footpath to Wigginton west of South Newington had been closed by Oxfordshire CC due to the poor condition of the boardwalk, but alternative routes to Wigginton were possible using paths to the north, or by walking along the Wigginton Road....

A walk over undulating countryside from Banbury to Hook Norton. Leaving Banbury - On Bretch Hill look for the path entrance left of a block of flats - see photo 1. Follow the path for 200 metres until you arrive at an entrance to a housing estate. Follow the path through the garden until you come to a big wooden gate with 'Beware of the dog' written on it....

There are two awkward roads to cross A41 (with two steep staired banks) and the Hook Norton road just by Fanville Farm near the end of the walk....
